What should I do

Question

My baby hasn't been moving much today. He normally hits his 10 kicks in 15-30 minutes and today he only had 6 in 2 hours. It's after that two hours and he's moved once. Should I call and go in to be checked? Last time I went in he was just fine and I feel stupid for wasting their time. I'm 31 weeks

You know your baby and your body less , I would say definetly go in if your feeling uncomfortable with the movement :) who cares if they think your silly ! At least u will have peace of mind

Did you try drinking something very cold (apple juice always works great for me) and laying on your left side? If you do this and still don’t get your 10 kicks, I would call your OB and explain the situation to them.

If you don’t feel 10 movements in 2 hours, they recommend you drink something cold and sweet (juice is great) and lay down to count for the next hour. If you haven’t hit the 10 movements after three total hours- go to the hospital to be monitored or call your doctor for advice.

My baby had a lazy day so I called and went in. It isn't worth the risk. They just hook you up to the monitors. Doesn't take too long.

My OB said you do not have to feel movement all day. You should get 10 kicks but ONLY 2 or 3 active periods a day. In between you should get little movements here or there. They go through hours of sleep. Sometimes if I'm busy that day or not feeling well, I won't get an active period until evening (I'm pregnant with my 4th baby)

I had that same problem at 30 weeks. Barely felt her move all day when she's an active baby. I tried the drinking cold water and laying on my left side and even then didn't feel much of anything. I was worried sick and went into the hospital. She was fine, just having a lazy day. It's always best to go in just to check, so it can put your nerves at ease. The nurses get worried mums like that all the time 😊

Definitely get seen about.. last thing I want is to scare you, but my brother and sister-in-law just went thru this, she was due this month but the baby didn’t move for just 8 hours and they ended up losing her.. but in her case the baby didn’t move at all- but I’d definitely go get seen about! Good luck!

better safe than  sorry. did you try Orange juice? cold. or something else very sugary? mine would * wake up* if I did these things or ate chocolate or something
