Are sororities all they’re made up to be or just overrated? (Should I join one?)

I’m going to be in college soon and I’ve heard a lot about sororities. Part of me wants to join one because of the fun portrayed on TV and things like that, but the other parts of me thinks it’s a waste of money and they’re overrated. Opinions? Explain yalls answers please 😊😊

I agree do your research. I had a friend that did it through college and she gave me all kinds of insight because I was curious as well just to what they were like and she said that they are not how movies make them out to be lol. It is a sister hood though, sounded better the way she explained it than the way movies did. Research girl! 😊

I’m not in a sorority but know people who are. They love it! If it’s something your considering, you can at least rush. If none of the sororities seem like something you’d enjoy, you don’t have to join. But you can get a feel for how they are. I don’t know a whole lot about price, but I think it at least looks impressive on some resumes. Especially since a lot of sororities do quite a bit of philanthropy work.

It is a waste of money and it's overrated, doubt it's anything like in the movies. Its also a life experience and it's fun. That's something for you to decide though. Do research on the sorority you want to join and ask one of the sisters for their thoughts on it.
