Good Morning Ladies,

I was served over 3 1/2 years ago for legitimation and Visitation, at which the judge is now demanding we come to court. We went through 4 hours of mediation, failed child support payments (Total in sons life 6-9 months of child support- ordered during mediation). We recently had threats through phone calls etc, so we have stopped having him call; we tried to create an agreement so my son could get to know him, if worst case scenario, he has to see him. My son doesn't know him, but has always known OF him. My husband wants to adopt him and has raised him since 7 months old. Biological father hasn't seen him since 15 months old.

Question: GA residents only--- how did you prove abandonment during a case like this-- to get legitimation thrown out the window. I don't care about the money, when it comes to Child support at all! We've paid about $25,000 in attorney fees already... Were not rich so this has definitely been a burden on our family.

(For those that want to jump in-- this is extremely complicated and emotional for me, I'm just trying to protect my child from further disappointment and abuse.)

Further Background: he was highly physically abusive to me pregnant and after (didn't start until pregnancy), not only physically but emotionally as well. Obviously i have an attorney, and we understand how complicated this is... just curious to hear others' similar stories to know what to expect. I'm soooo scared 😭😭, I haven't seen him since my son was 15 months either. The last argument was my husband and I trying to work with him due to him showing some change =\. We agreed we would meet in the middle which would be a total drive time of 3 hours for us, so they could meet (I won't go alone around him for my safety, nor my son), he said he didn't want to be around my husband so he wouldn't meet. He said that he should bend me over and f*ck me, get me pregnant, so my husband can see how it feels; he feels since I was pregnant by him, I was property apparently... He also said my husband deserves to be shot in the head... He has a horrible criminal background (assaults), extremely dishonest =\. There's SO much more 😩, just wanted to give some background! Last thing, we didn't hear from him for YEARS-- I should have never reached out, which is how this all started...
