If you ovulated on the 9th yes it’s too soon.  
Egg and sperm have to meet and connect (can take up to 24hrs). Then travel down the tube (can take up to 5 days).  Then have to pick a spot and implant (can take 2-3 days). Then a few days after that your body starts producing enough HCG to show in the tests.  
I test early but only with the super cheapies from Amazon.   Not wasting $20-$30 every month on frer.
