Those born in the 80s, do you consider yourself to be a millennial?

An odd question, I know, but it’s fun to see what others say! When I was growing up, I was taught that I was Gen Y. My friend and I went to a training for our profession, and there was a very interesting session about generations. There, the presenter said that people born in 1983 until 2003 are considered “millennials”. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I have researched it, and there seems to be no consistency when it comes to declaring “generations”. What do you think?

There’s a pretty big difference from someone born in the 80’s who grew up with having to rewind VHS, corded phones, and not getting super basic cell phones until high school (or later)... compared to a 00-03 baby who started snapchatting before middle school, and had an ipad in grade school lol. 
So I definitely don’t identify with my youngest cousins so much...feels like a whole other generation for sure. I was born on the veryyyy tail-end of the 80’s!

A millennial is anyone born between the early 80’s to the mid-90’s (also known as Generation Y). Those born after that are part of Generation Z.

From what I’ve heard 1981 to mid/late 1990s are Millennials. So yes, my husband and I are both millennials in our 30s.

I was born near the beginning of the millennials (1986), my sister was born near the end (1999). Our childhood experiences like with VCRs and walkmans and all that was very different but our post-school experiences like with college, jobs, housing, is similar. And I can certainly relate to her age group’s anxieties about the future of our society, our country, and our planet. So idk sometimes I feel like a millennial and sometimes I don’t.

I do in the sense that we understand how fast media and electronic change. Went from vhs, cassettes, unfoldable cell phones  ..... to Aol dial up internet to dsl to wireless..,,, to cds, dvds, to digital its amazing and us milinneals understand the need to adapt and not get too attached because the newest and latest is always on the way!
