Nipple shield help with shallow latch?

My baby is 5 days old. She is small and I feel like her small mouth is causing a shallow latch. breastfeeding has been quite painful and I’m wondering if using a nipple shield will help her get a deeper latch??

Yes!! My baby girl had a shallow latch too! I was just about to give up on breast-feeding, and ended up getting a nipple shield instead! Total game changer!
