In a relationship but curious

I’m in a relationship with a guy, but we’ve talked about wanting to do a threesome before. In my past I’ve kissed girls and he knows I’m interested in doing more. He says he doesn’t care as long as I don’t leave him for a girl and he wants to see it. Would it be weird for me to be messing around with a girl but still be with him? Or would that be considered cheating??
