How do you know if you're settling?

Question

Title says it all. How do you know if you're settling for someone?

If you have to ask,  I'd say you're settling.

If you’re justifying being with them like “well if I leave I’m going to have to find another place to live...and I don’t have the money right now”
“Well it’s not that bad. My friend’s boyfriend isn’t even as attractive as him”
“I could be happy with him if XY and Z changed. We can work on that”

if you think about leaving them
if you find yourself writing posts about your emotional conflict 
if you played the “they will change/do better/make more effort” game for too long (most ppl can’t change their personality and lifestyle and they should focus on finding someone with compatible lifestyle and personality rather than trying to change)
if you feel lonely or bored with them most of the time  and feel like you can’t share common interests with ur partner that can be a sign of incompatibility 
if things that they do cause you stress or make you irritable that can be a sign of incompatibility (examples include childish behavior, slobbish behavior, music taste, sense of humor, drugs like alcohol, partying, sleeping all the time)
remember that loving someone isn’t the same as being compatible and being incompatible doesn’t mean you don’t love them, it just means you need to think about your happiness and if your partner loves you back then they will want you to seek happiness as well. even tho it make break some hearts in the process.
