Did you lose your mucus plug before contractions?

I’m 40W2D and I seem to be hooked on the idea of losing my mucus plug but I know contraction can happen before. 
Just want to see how many mommas didn’t lose their mucus plug!

I have been loosing my mucus plug for over a week, but to my knowledge there is no relation between that and contractions. it's more if a sign that you are thinning

I’ve been losing mine in huge pieces over the last 3 days..(had a membrane sweep Thursday), but I was 1cm Thursday and just checked at L&D; today and still only 1cm... so even though I haven’t dilated any more, i still lost my plug.. I can’t imagine there’s any more to lose, I’ve lost a ton..
