How urgent is spotting at 6.5weeks?

Question

I see a lot a people saying spotting at this stage is normal but let your doctor know to be on the safe side. I started spotting for the first time today but it’s a holiday weekend so the doctor won’t be there until Tuesday. At this point it’s light brown and only when I wipe. I’m having some mild cramps but that’s been going on the whole time. My first ultrasound is in 1 week and 1 day. 
Should I wait til Tuesday to call the doc?
Visit a walk in or ER? At what point should I worry? Or is this no big deal?
Any advice?
UPDATE: thankfully the doctor is open today, and they put me in for a 1:15 appointment. Still light brown spotting with light cramps.

Same thing is happening to me....i’m 6 weeks and a few days, ultrasound in a week. Light brown spotting since yesterday. It’s very light, not getting worse, but I’ll try my Doctor first thing. My insurance also has a 24 hour nurse hotline so I might check that out if I get too freaked out! From what I’ve heard, light brown is ok and so are mild cramps. If it changes....we’ll, I’ll cross that bridge then.....

I hope my story will help you! I had spotting early in pregnancy with both my girls. This third pregnancy I had brown spotting at 9 weeks- ultrasound showed a small hemorrhage. Then at 11 weeks I got up out of bed and there was a pool of blood everywhere and I rushed to ER- ultrasound showed healthy baby and I was told it was a small hemorrhage. Bleeding can mean nothing at all or it can be signs of miscarriage. My OB said that typically the heartbeat will be low and they can usually tell when the baby isn’t going to make it. No reason to go to the ER! Ca your doc on tuesday of the spotting persists.

It’s not an issue unless it’s quite a bit of blood combined with severe cramping. Slight spotting is totally normal.

Mild spotting is normal. I'd be more concerned with red (fresh) blood. The brown seems to indicate it's old blood from a previous cycle.
