Did you need to stop working to take care of your baby(ies)?

I don't have a degree or any special working skills so where I live I would probably be solely be working to pay for daycare. So I make sure my son is well taken care of and paid attention to 24/7 & husband makes just enough for us to live without any additional assistance. It's a little unfortunate because we aren't "getting anywhere" in terms of savings at the moment.

I have 2 babies 16 months apart and work full time as an RN supe plus on call hrs. Hubby works 6 days a week. Our kids are not in day care we work opposite shifts. I love my kids and I love my job too. Working allows us to live comfortably since my husband doesn’t make alot of money.

Right now I have to work for health insurance and college loan payments, but this is the last year we have to pay his so we are considering me going down to part time or quitting fully if we can find alternative healthcare as my whole check covers loans, child care, and health care in a given month and thats about it. The only issue is I still owe on my loans until 2022/23 ish. But we’ll see.

I'd like to do both when I have my own babies, my partner has two daughters and I only work 20 hours per fortnight so that I can do school drop offs and pick ups etc. I'm much more interested in them having a good childhood than making tonnes of money

I didn’t need too .. but we both agreed it was best for me to stay home and take care of our son instead of someone else !

I'm a teacher and have no problem taking care of my baby and working too. Working or staying at home is a personal choice and both can make excellent parents!

Yeah I did. Day care was expensive and not worth it. I didn’t want to send my son there. I work a little bit on the weekends and that’s about it.

No you don't need to, I will be taking about 6 months off from work. My SO and I own a roofing business so he will continue to work after about 4 weeks after the baby is born than I will go back as well. Won't be putting him in a daycare but I will hire a babysitter.
