Do cysts trick opk’s?

So for the past 8 days I’ve had flashing smileys.. I went to the emergency room 2 days ago and they told me I have 2 very very small cysts. One is 1.2 cm and the other is like .8 cm.. I was wondering if the cysts cause me to get flashing smileys? Will I ovulate this cycle or should I just stop testing and wait until next cycle?

Hmm I had a cyst myself this cycle. I don't remember the exact size but it was quite painful so I went to my gyno. An ultrasound confirmed it was there but small enough not to stress about - that the egg that was about to drop for ovulation was bigger than the cyst. She said if it had been bigger she might have recommended we sit this month out. I do think it pushed back my ovulation as I didn't get a postive until CD 20. I don't think a cyst could give you a "false" lh surge, but it may affect your ovulation timing. I'm curious to see if anyone else has any insight on this.

No. If you’re using Clearblue Digital OPKs which it sounds like you are the flashing smiley is just an indication of high estrogen.
