6 month old wakes up every 2-3 hours

My son will be 6 months old in a week and for the last 3 weeks, he has been waking up every 2-3 hours at night and screams until I nurse him. I know he doesn’t need to eat this much at night, he gets plenty during the day plus solids. I know he could be teething/growth spurt/leap, but 3 weeks seems like forever. It’s gotten to the point that from 4 am to 7/8 am, he’s laying next to me with my shirt up so he can nurse when he wants just so I can get some sleep because I feel like I have a newborn again. I don’t want this to become a habit and would really like for him to learn how to self soothe! I️ want him in his crib but he sleeps even worse there. He always ends up needing to be rocked or have a binky but even that doesn’t work anymore. He just screams and screams. Please give me some advice!! I love nursing him and cuddling with him but I️ can’t function anymore I’m so tired.
