Need some mommy advice! Am I wrong?

Question

So last October, I had my son. He’s about to be 4 months old this Sunday, my SO has a daughter whose going to be 8 in March. We’ve been together for almost 8 years in September. He’s a great father, but I don’t trust his judgment when it comes to my step daughter & my son. I’m not comfortable with letting her picking him up or walk around with him & my SO is. So this past Monday I knew it was going to be the three of them alone while I went school, so instead of leaving my son with them, I left him with my sister. He got upset, I didn’t tell him why I didn’t leave him because he would get upset. But as a mother am I wrong for using my better judgement & not leaving my son with his dad & sister because I’m worried of his safety?

I think it’s a bit selfish and condescending to him as a parent.. Its his child too, and her sibling. If I were him, I’d be extremely upset.

You have to trust him girlfriend- I know it's hard, I went through it with my last and I eventually had to let go and let him learn. Just talk to him and don't make it a "I don't trust this or like her doing that.." Chose your words and just let him know you think she's just too young to be carrying the little one around and it makes you uncomfortable.

You to have to be honest with him. You can’t say you don’t trust him judgment and then not give him the opportunity, it also isnt the mature way to go about handling it. 
You will cause damage to your relationship by handling it the way you have. And it could cause damage to the relationship with your step daughter as well.
Sit him down and tell him you don’t want her holding the baby unless she is seated with one of you present. That the risk vs reward is far to great. Explain to him the things gang you are comfortable with her helping with that you do that includes her. 
I agree I probably wouldn’t let an 8 year old carry my baby around, that’s probably not fair to anyone involved. But tell him that....

Your going to have to express your concerns to him. Moms are not the end all be all in parenting. It’s a team effort and your not being a team player night now. You have the right to you feelings but you have to let him know that- he may not agree with you but meet in the midddle somehow. “Only when she’s sitting and your husband is there to supervise the 8 year old”. Things like that. Don’t go down the rabbit hole of keeping his child away from him. He may decide to coparent away from you and then you really have no say when your child is on his time. Good luck,

My daughter was 8 when my now 11 month old son was born. No way would I let her just pick him up or hold him without sitting down and me being right there beside her. Babies are not dolls. One wrong move and they can be seriously injured. Your SO needs to step up and be responsible. No 8 year old should have free reign with a small baby.

My daughter's father and grandmother would always let his little sister hold my daughter when she was little. It always ALWAYS bothered me. little kids are clumsy! I was always afraid she would drop my daughter, and she did too btw. My daughter was okay but I freaked out! "She is big enough, old enough, strong enough to carry her." I told them I never wanted her to be carrying her around again. but that was one of the last times I was ever there as I was able to get myself out of his toxic personality. I have no clue if he held her again. I understand where you are coming from. It is a ftm worry from what I've been told.
