Late period=?? SOS

I recently became sexually active and I’ve used a condom every time (I was intimate about once a week for the past month). None of the condoms have broken, but my period is currently 4 days late. I’m getting pretty anxious about possibly being pregnant that even though I practiced safe sex. Not sure when I should take a pregnancy test, or if I should wait a few more days to see if my period will eventually start.

Also I read about missing a period due to hormones and stress, which could apply now but how possible is it?

What should my next step be? I should mention that I’m 17 and my parents would kill me if they found out I was sexually active, let alone possibly pregnant, so this is sort of a high risk situation for me.
