Do you use bumpers in your baby’s crib

Question

My daughter is almost 6 months and I’m ready to transition her to sleeping at night in her crib . During the night she has been sleeping in her bassinet and taking naps through out the day in her crib . I notice her arms and legs are always poking out of the crib , and the thought of her getting stuck in the middle of the night worries me . I’ve also read AAP is against bumpers . 
What age did you put the bumpers in?

My daughter is 8mo and kept getting her leg stuck in the bars of the crib, she woke up screaming one night when she got it stuck and was twisting to get it out. I ended up getting the mesh bumper, it fits very snug around the crib and she never sleeps with her face pressed against it. If you baby can roll front to back and bise versa well then I would suggest a mesh one if the bar issue bothers you.

I would advise you not to. It is known as a high risk factor for infant deaths due to suffocation. I started using them when my daughter was 14 months (because she was literally bumping her head all night. She had bumps on her head and the whole family was awake the whole night. She likes to crawl in the corner, and when she is waking up or wants to turn she hits her head hard. Once we used it she slept like a baby again 🙌🏻). 
We waited until we felt it really couldn’t go on any longer. And I specifically bought the aerosleep. The aerosleep makes it possible to breath through. (We also use the mattress protector because she slept on her belly ever since she could turn at 3 months old. It was so scary.)
So wait if you can, at least until your baby is +1 (recommend is +2). And if you do, buy the aerosleep.

My son is a sleeping ninja. He never stops moving. We don’t use bumpers although I’ve thought about lining the crib with pool noodles because sometimes at night I hear him whack his head on bed through the monitor. He does sometimes have hands and feet sticking out but he’s never gotten stuck. It would be more of a risk of him being caught in the bumper like a shark in a fishing net.

My son has been sleeping him his crib since we brought him home. He gets his arms and legs through the slats, but he always gets them back in the crib no problem. He also moves a ton and has bumped his head, but they can't exert enough force to hurt themselves. Bumpers are a suffocation hazard and not recommended by our pediatrician. And he's 5 months old.

I personally wouldn't use them I've heard to many bad things about them! I'd rather them get there leg stuck then them suffocating! X

Absolutely not. I'd rather my daughter wake up from getting her leg caught than to not wake up at all because she suffocated or was strangled in her sleep 🤷🏻‍♀️ #priorities

They have breathable mesh bumpers on amazon. My daughter had them since she was 6 Months. Helps tremendously because she loves sticking her limbs through the bars

I use the mesh ones! They can’t suffocate and legs won’t get stuck in crib rails.

We use the mesh ones. If you jam your face into them you can still easily breathe.
