What items made having a newborn and a toddler easier?

I’m going to have 17 month old when the baby is here and I want to make it as stress free as possible 😅

I'm a mom of 3 going on 4 all under age 6! Get a BIG play yard (not a pack n play, the big hexagonal ones) with special toys or put YouTube ABC shows ONLY for when the baby is being fed and changed. That way toddler will be happy and busy while you tend to the baby. If your toddler doesn't sleep with a white noise machine you may want to slowly introduce one to help drown out the baby cries. Double stroller. Carrier (though I can't use one due to severe neck issues). Keep your toddler in the crib and buy a second one, it's so worth it.

It's been a while since I had two that small but my husband pointed out last night that when we used to bring groceries in we would put the toddler in his highchair to prevent him from running outside. 😌
