Is this normal?

Had my 36 week check up and doctor did the strep b check but didn’t check if I was dilated or anything .. is that normal ? When do they normally check ?  Explained to her all the pain I was feeling and the contractions I had she told me it sounded like I was starting to go into preterm labor but then it just stopped on it’s own but didn’t check me to see if I was dilated..

They don’t always check especially when you start going in once a week. At 36 I was checked and strep tested. 
37 Weeks was not checked 
Tomorrow I’ll be 38 so hopefully they will check me

I was never checked until I was in active labor with my son. This time, I imagine it’ll be the same. You can always ask, but I really don’t even see the point - some ladies go from nothing to fully dilated and effaced within a few hours and some take weeks, so I feel like it’s unnecessary stress.

I had mine done today. My doctor gave me the option to check if i was dilated but said it wasn’t necessary sine my baby is still breech

I had my 36 strep test today and she gave me the option to do a cervix check but said it wouldn't really matter, so I skipped it.

My doctor starts checking at 37 weeks and checks every week after that. I'm only 34 weeks and 5 days so I haven't been checked yet. That's how it worked with my son and she said it'll be the same this time.

normal. typically if they do check you it starts around 37 weeks since baby is considered early term and could come at any point

Most start at 37 weeks but some don’t start till 39-40 weeks. My doctor did the same thing. So normal ☺️
