Experience with Nexlplanon implant for birth control?

Did you have any side effects? What were the pros and cons?

my period never stopped. I mean, really, I had some good weeks but I also had times I bled nonstop for months. my emotions were all crazy, I felt like I didn't know myself because I didn't have a normal cycle. I kept it the whole 3 years because I don't believe in wasting money when it did work, lol. but never again.

I had it for 3 years with non-stop spotting for half a year. I gain 30 pounds and just had mood swings. Overall I liked it, I would get it again but I heard nothing but horrible stories. 
FYI I got pregnant month after I took it out and I didn’t even have a period yet  🤭

I had it for 3 years and absolutely loved it i didnt have a period for a year and then got it normally for the last 2 took it out when my husband and I decided it was time for a baby and it was time to change it anyways :) i got pregnant right away and at my 6 week check up from having my son I got it again :) have had it in for 1 1/2 years now and its still the best thing ever!!!! No weight gain no periods and when i do get a period its a lot lighter and shorter than before i started nexplanon... i have read horrible things about it on here but from people i have met and know in person everybody loves it !!!

My experience was horrible... I had it put in at 15 and removed at 16. I gained weight and like literally had the worse pain in my arm like sometimes my arm would literally go numb it was so scary! It messed my periods completely up haven't been regular since then actually. I definitely would recommend this type of birth control...Before nexlplanon I was on the pill,patch,& nuvaring...Good Luck!

I am coming up on my 3 years, and don't plan on replacing it. One of the most significant side effects is that my libido has become so low. Another big one is that my periods were so inconsistent. Sometimes I would go months without it, other times I would have it several times in 1 month. But my boobs hurt almost ALL THE TIME! 
One positive to nexplanon is that I didn't gain any weight with it, and I didn't have to remember to take a pill every day at the same time.

Everyone is different.. but from MY experiences it was TERRIBLE! Sounded great at first, but after having it for quite awhile I had so many side effects from it. I had HORRIBLE anxiety and depression, I gained 65 pounds with it (same normal schedule as before, and my weight never went over 175 before I had it inserted), and even caused my arm to be sore occasionally all the way up into my neck. It’s been a little while now since I had it removed and STILL occasionally have the soreness where it was before, like the muscle pains. But I finally feel normal again and not as depressed and all as I was. But as I said, everyone’s experience is different... but personally mine was awful 😩

I loved having mine in for almost 3 years, but since mine was placed a little too deep it took two attempts to get it out 😣 My scar was pretty gnarly for a while, but is doing much better now. Although it was super convenient, I did not want to get another one after I had my baby
