Who is 40+ and TTC for baby #1?

If you’re like me and TTC for #1 please share your story. Why did you wait so long? What, if anything, changed your mind about motherhood? 
My Story: When I turned 40, hubby and I both realized that TTC was a “now or never” reality. We’ve both been very content child-free and have had no earlier aspirations to become parents... but as we stood at the crossroads we decided our home was a loving home and we are ready to share it with a little us hybrid (if we are so blessed). We will not seek medical intervention to get pregnant. It will be what fate decides. Considering our age we have agreed to stop TTC on my 42nd birthday and embrace our child-free life into our golden years.

I married at 30 to a man that started attempting suicide on a regular basis a year later. 5 years later we peacefully divorced so he could seek a sex change. I remarried at 39 to a man 10 years older than I. At first we weren't sure about having a child due to our ages, but a year later we sure. A year after that we started IVF.  I have  now done 3 rounds of it. Yesterday we transferred our last two embryos.  Fingers crossed that this time it works. I will do another round if it doesn't.

I'm 43 yrs old and my Husband is 45 yrs old. Trying for our first child. We've been together for 19 years, and married for almost 9 yrs. I wanted kids when we we're younger, but he wasn't ready. We to have enjoyed the freedom of going/doing things as we please. Last year we decided we we're ready to start trying. Haven't had any luck so far. It makes it difficult since he travels for his job, and is only home on the weekends.                               We still have hope👣👣

My husband and I conceived early in our marriage, unfortunately it resulted in 3 miscarriages and 2 infants passing away shortly after birth. We waited due to financial reasons to try fertility treatments. Luckily I was able to get free IUI treatments at 40/41 after joining a study on infertility and weight. I was unsuccessful in getting pregnant. We were foster parents, it was rewading however it takes a lot out of you emotionally. Right now it is just us. I am 43 now. I am almost at a place in my life to where I am ok with it just being my husband and I. We may still adopt a child, but that is a decision for a later date. Through all this my faith and trust is in God and the divine plan he has for my life, with or without children.

Well, never thought I would be here TTC for first at 42 --I did get pregnant once early  30s but I wasn't in a stable relationship nor was I prepared to be a single mom so I had to terminate it.. Life went on, I travelled and enjoyed my freedom until I met my S.O who is keen on having kids so here I am on my 5th cycle..I am active and healthy so we are trying for natural but reading up on conceiving at this age is quite depressing. I Just started on acupuncture and herbs to lengthen cycle and decrease stress. Baby dust for all of us 💖

I’m 40, will be 41 in June. Boyfriend is 36. We started to TTC 7 months ago. I went to a fertility doctor on Tuesday and they did a sonogram - everything looks normal except I have a retroverted uterus. (This doesn’t affect getting pregnant) I’m having blood work done Sunday, sperm sample Tuesday, starting Femara day 3, another sonogram, dye test. Not sure if I’m pregnant now - will take a test Monday if AF doesn’t start.
I didn’t meet my boyfriend until 3 days before my 39th birthday. We decided baby before wedding because of my biological clock. I wasn’t really waiting to have kids - just took me a long time to find him...even though he was literally living 2.5 miles from me!

I’m 44, husband is 48. We just got married in December (first marriage for both of us and neither of us have kids). We are trying now with IVF scheduled to start next week! We are waiting for confirmation that our insurance will cover it and I’m trying not to stress out in the meantime!

I'll be 41 next month and my fiance has no biological.. I have a 20 yr 13yr and 5yr and will the big age differences and him nit having any biological I'm hoping to be able to have 1 more

I'm 40 will be 41 Saturday I had a tubal reversal and 2013 being TTC since then after 5 years. It mite happen I have my period every month when I supposed to..My last period was Jan.20 ..it was due to be back on Feb.17 nothing yet 6 days late...I went to the hospital because I was Lower pain.. They did a ultrasound all they say is I have a cyst...mmmmmm sometime cyst can be a early sign of pregnancy...I hoping so...did two test both was neg... Thinking when should I take another...Help Help

I'll be 40 in May.  I've had 2 failed marriages, 2 miscarriages (1st husband, and 20 yrs later with current) and a chemical pregnancy.  I am now in a relationship where I'm treated the way I should be.  I feel like it will never happen.
