Cervix a lil open already?? 28wks

Heres a lil gross but necessary question. My cervix seems to be a lil open. I have bn having horrible constipation so have bn doing a lotta pushing... but is that normal??? Shd it be completely closed???

Please don't check your own cervix, you could introduce bacteria and give yourself an infection. If you are concerned, bring it up to your doctor at your next appointment.

Yikes. I would NOT touch your cervix if you feel it’s open at all. You could introduce harmful bacteria.  I was diagnosed with a shortening cervix at 26 weeks and it was as a bit open and dilated to 1cm. The labor and delivery doctor gave strict orders that nobody, not even my regular OB was to do any finger vaginal checks. If they wanted to look at my cervix, it could only be done with a speculum or a vaginal probe.
