Ovulation test/ tmi post / please help

I’m just really confused because since TTC with the blood work my doc has done I haven’t ovulated . (Tested on day 21 of December cycle and day 21 of my January cycle which was Feb6th). But I had a period from Jan 17th-24th then again Feb 3-9 then started spotting on the 19th (it was never on the pad but when I wiped which there was a bit I had to wipe 3 times it was really thick and dark at first) then lightened up to almost nothing this evening a few hours before I took this ovulation test . (This is the first time I’ve ever taken an ovulation test) . When I called the doctors this morning there was still blood so they said to start my Letrozole again for days 3-7. They said count today as day 3 . I’m really confused on what to do please help .
