Can you do this?

I’m going to be going to a university this upcoming year and I was wondering if there was a possibility that I could also take classes at a CC at the same time. I only have a couple classes to take before nursing school so I could probably get done a little faster if this is possible.

Even if you could somehow make it work financially (FAFSA will likely murder you for going to two schools at the same time) you run the risk of whatever school you’re getting your degree from, not accepting the classes you take at the other. Not all classes are equal - some might transfer for degree progress, some might transfer as electives, and some might not transfer at all. It’s up to the department that the class “belongs” to (so if you take an English course from CC and transfer it to university, it’s up to the English department of the university whether or not it’s worth anything). I would ask the school your getting your degree from about their policies before you commit.

I'm not sure if financial aid would cover both schools at the same time. But you can take CC classes on winter or summer break. I wanted to do this too so I'm following
