Where do you draw the line?

So I like to be a helpful person but I realized for this app I have to give myself boundaries. I don't want to be the kind of Christian that sits on my high horse and judges people, I want to get down with them and help however I can. So what I decided is I won't give sex advice to someone who isn't married and I wont tell someone to leave their spouse except for unfaithfulness or abuse. How do you handle this?

I stay out of pretty much all relationship advice. For one thing, I'm only hearing one side... who knows if they're telling everything. Also, it's hard enough making life choices in my own life. I don't know what's best for others.

Same.  I don't give unwed couples advice on sex.  But I do help on relationship advice. I don't encourage fornication, masturbation or other sexual sins.  I do help in every other way I can.  I do this without hatred in my heart.  I recognize that I too sinned at one point in these ways,  but I refuse to encourage others to continue in it.

In my opinion and experience, I think it is most important to just be real with people and remember that they are human.  You’re right, you don’t want to get up on a high horse, you want to level with people and have compassion for their circumstances.  Using one of the examples you have given, if someone asked me about premarital sex, I would just tell them that I can’t condone the behavior because it is frowned upon by God and He doesn’t want us to do that, but I understand how hard it is.  I use the scripture to tell them where to try to look for answers.  We are flesh and we are sinners.  We need to keep in prayer with God.  I also won’t lie to them.  I had premarital sex with my husband before we were married.  Did I know it was wrong?  Yes.  Did I struggle with it, ask for forgiveness, fail, try again, etc.  YEP!  I’m also human.  I make mistakes.  God still loves me and knows where my heart was and what I wanted and guided me trough it every step of the way.  I married that man, I have a BEAUTIFUL marriage and I couldn’t have asked for better for myself.

I have the same boundaries. I also usually try and relate my advice to my past experiences ... to try and not come across like I'm on a high horse and have never sinned.  Sometimes it comes across via text, sometimes it doesn't. That's my biggest struggle with no tone to go off of.

It seems like the subject of sex either for married couples or couples who are about to get married, is like a big no no shameful topic.
