He and I decided to go with my last name as he has a ton of brothers and sisters to keep his name going and my name is a cool unique name. I am a bit concerned about how people will take it after reading a few stories of families and institutions having a problem with it. Do you think it's weird? Has anyone done this? What was your experience? Thanks!

Edit: thanks for all the replies! I am really happy he wants to. It's so sweet of him to want to keep my family name going. I guess I'm not really concerned about what people think, more what it will be like for technical stuff. Has anyone done this that can shine some light on any problems that might arise? I read some people had some issues with banks and official documents.
