How long after your first appointment with a fertility specialist did you start Iui?

I have my first appointment today, and I’m so impatient that everything takes so long. My husband has already had a couple appointments since our issue is male factor infertility, and they are suggesting we start with iui. I hope I don’t have any issues that make this take longer. How long after your first appointment did you get to start iui?

Wow so the appointment went really well. Since I had already done blood tests and an ultrasound at my gyno to refer us to the clinic, they said we can start iui this month! I’m on my period now and we can start as soon as I get a positive opk in a couple weeks! Didn’t know it would be that soon! Now I’m kinda freaking out!

Went in to RE in late January got all my blood work done and my baseline ultrasound done Wednesday and I'm scheduling my iui for next month.

Saw mine in September.   He wanted and HSG done and offered I start a cycle that same month but I figured why out myself through meds if I had an issue show up on the HSG.     Hsg was October - good results so did first cycle for IUI in November.

My only issue was a polyp discovered at my consultation ultrasound. My RE said it had to come out first. I couldn’t get scheduled for the surgery until 3 and a half months later! That was disappointing, but now it’s way behind me! Luckily I was able to start the first IUI round with the very next cycle 🤗

It depends where you are in your cycle. I had my consultation a few days before my period started. All my medications were set up through the pharmacy to be delivered to me and started Gonal-f injections on night 4 of period, which was also the first day of blood work and ultrasound. So it can happen as little as a week of starting or might have to wait a whole cycle. All depends on timing of consultation and first appointment. I started my second iui cycle last night. Hi! I had my consult late October, all testing done in November, and started first cycle in January. December didn’t work out bc we were out of town for Christmas. Best wishes to you!

After all my test were complete and we had another consultation for what plan we were doing (IUI or IVF). Then I started the next cycle. So about two months. Started October...IUI December.
