What is going on with me

My period is 5 days late. I took two pregnancies test and both said negative. I know it’s a short month but why is my period so late. I never had late periods. 29 or 28 days but not in the 30s. Am I pregnant or is my period coming on? I’m so confused. I want to be pregnant so bad though
