Do you tip your tattoo artist?

Someone commented on this app stating that most of the money paid towards the Tattoo goes into the artists pockets anyways, so she does not tip. I was just curious on if you tip or if you don’t. And if you don’t, how come?

That sounds like someone who also doesn’t tip their hair dresser or manicurist. 
It’s all the same. If you go to a reputable tattoo parlor / saloon, they have to pay “rent” or booth fees. This could be based on so many hours a week, so many days, or multiple arrangements. They pay to provide your service. 
Depending on their “rental” agreement, they may also need to supply their own ink, stencils, etc. they also spend time designing your tattoo to fit on your body appropriately (believe it or not, your notebook sketch is not proportionate)

Omg yes!! Always!! They are putting their art on you why not make sure u take care of them. I go back to the same tattoo artist and i know he does awesome work no matter what but I know he appreciates when I come in bc I make sure I give me a nice tip and he makes sure I have a seat as soon as I come in.

Yes I always tip no matter what. I personally know my tattoo artist and he does amazing work. My tattoo was $300 and I have him a $100 tip. Tattoos aren’t easy and they take a lot of time and patience plus I’m a hairstylist so I know how shitty it is to do your absolute best and not get tipped or get a shitty tip. I will say no tip is better than a shitty tip though

they get half at most of what you pay. if I'm really happy with the artist I tip them. It's like getting your hair cut. they only make money if they have customers. I've known tattoo artists that do not get paid hourly. the only Money they make is from the tattoos

I work at a tattoo shop and that's not true most artist are LUCKY  to get half of what u pay soemonly get 30%.... it's a service so regardless u should always tip

ALWAYS tip. That's not true at all, most of the money does not go towards them. Plus they are doing a unique piece of art on your body that will be there forever.. That's worth a tip
