Weight loss with PCOS ?

Any tips for what’s worked for you? I’m going on month 7 of seriously ttc. My gyno has been fairly unhelpful and just keeps saying weight loss will bring on my period and ovulation, but if anything I’ve gained weight since trying. 
I’m getting pretty discouraged and it feels like there’s no end in sight. If you’ve lost weight with PCOS, mind sharing your tips? Any little bit helps!

For one: get a new doctor. I say that nicely. I have had PCOS for seven years and I have had some very unsatisfactory doctors. I’ve had some that didn’t want to listen, thought I was crazy and it was all in my head, and some who was too busy to listen to me for five minutes to know what’s going on to help. I fought through it and got a doctor who listens and cares. I  wouldn’t trade him for the world!!!!  
Two: weight loss sucks with PCOS. I have a weight loss “limit”. My body will allow me to loose so many pounds and then no more, or packs it back on. I have insulate resistance bad. I can eat right, exercise, drink water and still nothing. I walk/jog three miles daily. Lift weights and I do cardio weekly. Ten pounds is all I lost and really even then at times it’s five..... so know what PCOS symptoms you have more than others. 
Three: there are pills that will help your period and ovulation. Don’t let a doctor tell you no. I took metformin and got pregnant. It also help me loose 20lbs . Clomid is another some women like more and it works. It depends on you and how it affects you. But honey, it helps us all. Just because you have PCOS does not mean your diabetic, fat, or difficult. You need some tweaking, but most importantly be you and own it! It’s frustrating but with the right tools, doctor, and support- you can do this!

Gyno’s aren’t the best with PCOS, you need to get a referral to an endocrinologist ASAP.
Are you on Metformin? This will help but you need to modify your diet & lifestyle. Diabetic diets can help, I went with clean eating, AIP Paleo & Anti inflammatory diet helped me.

Thanks so much everyone. I’m definitely going to take all of these tips into account, but if nothing else all of your kind words have been really reassuring/motivating. Fingers crossed that this is the year I’m able to take control!

I went on weight watchers and worked out. Lost 25pounds and got pregnant. Plus my cycles came back once a month. I also took  vitex until my cycles came back and the switched to d-pinitol. I had two boys who are 11months apart back to back. Weight came back after pregnacy. I am back on weight watchers. I have been on for a week now and I am down 5 pounds so far.

Portion control, cutting snacks and unhealthy stuff to a minimum. And exercise 4-5times a week 20-60min each time.

Staying away from dairy and cutting back on carbs has been the key for me! It keeps my periods like clockwork! I’ve lost 11 pounds in two months so far.
