I would say it is a good thing as it's a guy giving you a compliment on the way you look and that you're attractive to look at. Although, I like compliments such as this from guys around the same age as me, I feel very uncomfortable if it is from a man a lot older than myself. Obviously compliments are nice and do boost the self esteem I just say it depends on who is complimenting me. Anyone considerably older than myself and I start to feel uncomfortable!
