What can I put on my registry / purchase for my husband?

Help! My husband and I were talking when he made the comment "I hope somebody gets something for me" regarding our baby shower when I made a comment about our friends registry and some new mom stuff I wanted to buy her. He tried to cover it up by making a joke about tools but I know he meant it! I already have a matching tee and onesie idea as a gift for father's day but would still like ideas for the shower or registry. We're having a surprise and I'm due in the summer. Any ideas? I don't mind buying it myself or asking my sister to buy it in lieu of a baby gift.

Maybe I'm different or just not quite understanding this. But what?! It's a baby shower. BABY! Mommas don't get anything at the shower. It's all about the baby. This just seems very silly to me. I made my husband a gift from me. A sort of "good luck with my crazy ass while birthing our child" gift. I just made him a gift basket with his favorite Starbuck iced coffee, some of his favorite food, a new pair of headphones, some new socks and some other random things.

I added books that included Daddy and Me books, got him his own diaper bag, added a bear and onesies from his college and sport teams he likes

A set of tools.  I did a dad toolbox.  It had things like screwdrivers, wrenches, Allen wrench and batteries. He will need them to put things together.

My hubbys family made him a “call of doody” present. Like nose plugs and googles for a laugh, plus normal diaper changing stuff. They also put some candy and soda that was Dad or baby related in the box, like dads old fashioned root beer and baby bottle pops candy. It was really nice of them! We made our registry together so we both got to pick stuff we liked.

I'd get him a dad diaper bag, a journal, a camera, and a baby carrier. 
I joked with my husband that if he got a better gift than me at our baby shower he had to be pantsless and only have a crummy sheet to cover him during birth. If he gets two gifts better than mine then i expect him to be ready for spotlights 😂
I will never follow through with that obviously. I'm getting him a new truck for our baby shower. (Currently he drives a 2001 Toyota Camry). He has no idea.

If he has a sports team you could get a little uniform for the baby. There are some books about child care aimed at dad’s. 
I once bought someone a baby outfit that looked just like something I’d seen the Dad wear a lot, it was silly but cute.
Maybe a cigar or bottle of something to ‘wet the baby’s head’, I don’t know if that’s a thing where you are but it’s basically having a drink to celebrate the baby’s arrival.

Well I don't know if your having a boy but you can do daddy and son matching gifts. 
If it's a girl you can do the same but it could be something matching a hobby he has. Like matching jerseys or something :)

I am definitely asking him his opinion on everything. He was adamant that the diaper bag wasn't "girly" or that he could have this own. lol We are opting for a simple black backpack design. Other than that I just get his opinion whenever I add something to the registry and have him go with me to Target and let him add of few things of his own choosing to the registry.

really....It's all for him.his sperm outcome. I get it, but really. So.look up male baby holders. They are built for man bodies and look like super cool cevlar. My hubby bought one and said he will carry baby everywhere in his co gear. oh and a matching man baby bag that looks more like a swat duffle bag lol.

We registered for a baby carrier and diaper ‘sac’ that he liked, less feminine and something he’ll enjoy using.
