Babybled solids FTW

My baby girl is all about feeding herself. I give her pretty much everything I’m eating (except junk food) and let her explore and feed herself. Babies need to know what Whole Foods, especially veggies are suppose to look like. Expose them to different colors, textures, flavors. Keep an eye on them! But trust them to build eating skills.

Spitting up pieces of food that is too big, and gagging are all important skills to learn to prevent yourself from choking. It’s scary to watch but important because it’s a learned skill and not as instinctual. Kids who aren’t taught at an early age and always given “safe” foods tend to eat faster choke more when they are two/ three years old when parents assume that they would know how to control their mouths but they really don’t have enough experience.
