skyla iud?

Question

anyone have skyla and can tell me if you like it or not? i’m supposed to be going March 5 to have mine put in and i’m super nervous. do you normally get a period every month? do you gain weight? pros and cons? i’m switching because I was on the pill and couldn’t keep up with it and I don’t want to risk pregnancy. has anyone gotten pregnant on it? sorry for all the questions just want some advice and opinions !!

Different for everyone. I didn’t gain weight but I got longer periods and more cramping. Most people stop having periods.

I got one late December and the procedure wasnt that bad just pressure and i had horrible cramps for the first month. I also spotted for basically all of January and now my period is normal. It’s a bit lighter than usual but it’s the same time wise. I️ used to not get cramps when i got my period but now that i have the iud they are horrible. It’s my first form of birth control so i can’t compare it to anything else besides that it’s easier since i dont have to worry about taking a pill everyday because i am so forgetful. Other than that it’s been pretty good. I haven’t gained weight but my appetite did increase. I used to only eat half of my plate when I’d eat and now i eat all of my plate and I’m snacking a lot. I’m also only almost 3 months in but i havent gained any weight but it effects everyone’s body differently.

I’ve had two IUDs now. I got on the Mirena when my son was about 7 months old. I had very regular periods (like clockwork!) and no other symptoms. I didn’t gain weight or anything. I had it for the full 5 years, had it removed and got on depo (terrible idea) for about 9 months before getting on Skyla last May. I instantly dropped the weight I had gained. 
Oh my last month before Mirena my periods stopped altogether, never came back 🤷‍♀️ still haven’t had one!

I got mine a week ago today and so far so good. Getting it inserted hurt like a bitch but just for like 30 seconds. I haven’t gotten any spotting just bad cramps in my lower back!
