Should I get a Paragard IUD??

I am 17 and the only birth control I have used are condoms, but they are getting pretty annoying and expensive for me and my boyfriend, we have both been tested and are both clean. We both want to change contraception but the thought of putting hormones into my body freaks me out, so I thought a copper IUD would be the best thing for me. I’ve been reading some really bad reviews on them, where girls have been breaking out really bad, having multiple periods in a months, super bad cramping and altogether just not feeling well.. All of this scares me, I really just wish you could have an on/off switch for pregnancy 😅😂 So I was wondering who here has/had a paragard, what was your experience with it and would you recommend it??
