New to birth control

Hi, I'm 16 and I've been with my boyfriend for 5 months now. We want to become sexually active, but it's hard to find time. I was honest to my grandma about this, and she got me an appointment with an OB/GYN. She prescribed me Nuvaring, and to be honest, some of the possible side effects worried me a little. I seemed to have found more negative reviews than positive ones. However, my older sister is on Nuvaring, and she told me the only side effects she's experienced are nausea and headaches. And because we're genetically similar, Nuvaring might effect us in the same way. I put Nuvaring in on Sunday (it's now Tuesday) and so far so good. My boyfriend and I are planning on using condoms as well. Do let me know if you have any comments or opinions about Nuvaring. Thank you all!
