i’m thinking about getting one but I have some questions! I want to know how the experience of getting one is because i’ve seen videos and it looks nasty and painful! just general advice! also can a guy like feel the string attached to it with his fingers or anything??

hello! I got my ParaGaurd about 1 month ago. The insertion process feels a bit like a cramp on your period, there's a small internal pinch. but other then that you can just walk out of the office and be alright for the day. the next day is when the pain hit me, basically just bad cramps. I laid on a heating pad all night just to get some sleep. then it slowly wore off and the pain went away. I can not feel any strings, nor can my partner. if you can, you can always just go back to the doctor and they can clip the strings shorter! I've found this iud so helpful and stress free as I was on the pill for 2 years and it was such a hassle to remember by birth control! now it's not even a concern! hope this helped!

I got Skyla abt a month ago. The insertion was the worst pain that I've ever felt. I was dizzy, nauseous and in pain for abt 30mins after insertion. My first period was heavy and I had cramps. No regrets tho because I was tired of the pill. My heating pad is my bestie.

I just got paragaurd today! There was a bad cramp during insertion but I got up immediately and was able to go back to work with no problem. I've really only had mild cramping all day!

I have the mirena and I love it! Got it a year ago this month. I had some pretty bad cramping at first but it slowly got better. My periods were really effed up but now they are almost clock work. I use to be on the pill and I would always forget to take it and I couldn’t risk getting pregnant. With the mirena you put it in and forget you even have it! Plus there is a very low risk of pregnancy on it and me and my boyfriend are not very careful! No scares yet!
