UK mums : benefit advice?

Currently on SMP from work due to go back end July but got another bean on the way so won’t be going back....what do I need to claim? And any ideas what I’ll be entitled too? Currently it’s just me and 5 month old LG ...
I’m new to this and never claimed benefits in my life ...just curious and asking before the time comes !!

Not 100% but I think you’d have to apply for income support/universal credit and if you qualify you’ll get help with housing benefit/council tax reduction and be entitled to child tax credits aswell. I’d advise calling citizens advice to get help working it out :) best of luck.

If you can go back for 15 weeks then you are entitled to another SMP xx

If you’re single, not working and have children then when your maternity runs out you’d be able to claim income support and child tax credit. 
You may also be able to get housing benefit.

You should be entitled to universal credit. You need to make an account on the Gov website & make an appointment with them. They'll go through everything with you and you should get your first payment within 10 weeks I think if you qualify for it! I'm due my second too but I'm not sure on when I'm supposed to let them know! Depending on your situation you may be entitled to council tax reduction too.
