pain w/iud

has anyone experienced pain with the iud? It's like lower abdominal pain where your ovaries would be (approx.), i get it all the time when me and my boyfriend have sex. I've already had an infection (bv) because of the iud but that didny cause pain. This pain is bad but when I went to the doctors for bv I asked if my iud was in place and she said yeah the strings where visible and looked okay. I even had a CT scan in December for a different reason and it was fine. I told my boyfriend maybe it's when he moves too hard and hits my cervix that it irritated it but idk... we don't hit it that hard anymore and it still hurts.
