What does your 4 month old weigh?

My daughter had her 4 month check-up today and she weighs 16 lbs even. Doctor says she weighs what an average 6 month old weighs😕, but isn't concerned. I am surprised that her doctor also said I can try to introduce solids, starting with spoon feeding her a soupy rice cereal mixture (only 2 tablespoons of rice and mostly breastmilk/water). She is only on breastmilk, so I am wondering how your babes are measuring and what they are eating.

My son was just shy of 17, and my dr said the same about cereal.  Said to hold off on other solids but if he seems interested to try them out.

same here :) didn't matter that she's on the bigger side, she's just old enough to start trying out dinner foods :) she's started watching me eat, I think if I didn't try out some foods she'd start getting mad she wasn't getting any, lol!

my little girl was 12lb14 at her 4 month check up.

my son just had his 4 month appointment (he's technically 4 months and 10 days) and he was almost 19lbs. I wouldn't worry. and you don't have to start food if you're not ready. my pediatrician recommended waiting until 6 months even considering his size.
