Tips for flawless foundation??

Ok so my skin is on the dry side. I cleanse, exfoliate, moisturize, prime, use high end and drugstore foundation, and setting spray and my face is always dry/patchy and sometimes cakey. I dont know what to do. I have tried face oils, face masks but nothing helps. Is there anyone that has gone through this? Please help!!

I’ve always been the same way. Til I started using this. Give it a try. I wash my face morning and night. Then use this right after. Also before I put on my makeup primer.

What kind of moisturizer do you use? Do you use a beauty blender for your foundation

I have  really dry skin and this is what I do. I exfoliate only a couple of times a week so that I don’t dry it out with the st Ives apricot scrub and then I use a really really thick moisturizer from cetaphil every night and before I put my makeup on. For primer I use the nyx honey dew me up which has been soooo good for my dry skin. It’s a serum and meant to make your skin look dewy and moisturized so it’s really good for dry skin. Then I apply the maybelline fit me foundation (the dewy formula) and I put it on with a damp beauty blender. Lastly I set it with the dewy spray from nyx. I think the key is suing products meant for dry skin. I find my makeup looks best when I’m using dewy finish products or products meant for dry skin. Don’t be worried about looking oily or too dewy. It works when you have dry skin to just make you look glowy not too shiny!

I had this problem and tried the Mario Badesco Glycolic Acid Toner. I used it once a day before bed and my patchiness and dryness cleared up within two days. I absolutely love this product

At night moisturize with pond’s dry cream then use a light oil on top. Then in the morning use a gentle NON foamy cleanser and use ponds again.
You’re using a liquid foundation right and not a powder? Don’t use a mattifying foundation go for something dewy.

samee, until i started using loreal hydraboost moisturizer. it made a huge difference in about a week. i also use too faced born this way foundation and it gives you a dewy look even if you set it with powder.

apply a generous amount of moisturizer before applying foundation or use a primer that suits ur skin type

So I’m not an expert on skin care but I do know that st. Ives is not so great for the skin. Something about the ingredient that actually make the skin worse. Also, stick to one moisture cream. This will help your face ph get leveled. If you keep changing brands and lotion every month your face will never heal or get leveled.

I do the same as you but I use a stippling brush and damp beauty blender for my foundation.
