Which IUD is better? SKyla or mirena

Hey ladies, okay so I’ve been on Paraguard for the last 5 years but do to getting constant cysts which are extremely painful for me my doctor thinks it’s best to take a hormone based iud and suggested either mirena or skyla and wanted to know more about your guys experience with them

Skyla has the lowest dose of progestin and is smaller than Mirena, but all in all they are the same. Skyla lasts about 3 years whereas Mirena will last 5 years. If your body was able to handle the Paragard the Mirena should be fine, but if you are worried about the hormones (like me) I would have your doctor do an ultrasound to measure your cervix to see if Skyla would be a good fit since the hormone dosage is lower. For me, I wanted Paragard but my cervix was too small and my body expelled it. 😩 But Skyla has been pretty good to me so far.
