Ovulation tests clearblue

Tested for 8 days. Got flashing smileys. Tested this morning. Flashing smiley. Testing again after my workout. Got a solid smiley on a different applicator. Tested immediately after that on a clearblue pink digital to confirm. Got a negative. Tested later this afternoon and both negative. How did I get a positive on the other one?? Did I really ovulate? So confusing.
