Not at all. It felt like mild period cramping

Around 6cm they really started to hurt. That’s when everything was ready for the epidural, thankfully, and after that, it was smooth sailing. I love that anesthesiologist. 😂
But seriously, I was on the fence about a natural birth until labor pains started in my back. That was the worst of it— it felt like someone was stabbing my spine over and over. I was so thankful for the epidural! 
Now that my period has started up again, I’m getting menstrual cramps in my back. Hooray. 🙄 But at least they aren’t as bad as those contractions.

I said no but that’s because they didn’t really start to hurt until 9cm

With my first, my contractions were not bad at all. In fact, my labor and contractions started regressing 15 hours into labor. I ended up with a c-section though.
