Tea tree oil for lice prevention, how much do I use?

Im thinking about starting to use tea tree oil in my daughters shampoo to help prevent headlice. She hasn't got it yet it but I would like to try to avoid it. With her starting to be around other kids so often I think it's time to put some prevention in place.
She's 3 years old and we use loreal kids shampoo. Would you suggest putting the drops of oil directly in the bottle(if so how many) or just putting some in my palm when I wash her hair?

my daughters is 6 and she has supper curly and frizzy hair so I would never get a nit comb through her so I started using tea tree oil in her water spray bottle a week before she started nursery and touch wood she has never had them.             I put about 4 drops in her spray bottle with  warm water to top up to the top and use it over 3 to 4 days then do fresh if u can find it also mix it with neema a oil as I heard thay hate that aswell but just tea tree oil has worked for her.

This works! I've been using it on my daughter for years, whenever there's a lice outbreak at school. I just put her hair in a ponytail or braids and spray this everywhere! She's never had lice (knock on wood) lol 😊

they hate anything mint. I also have mint shampoo and conditioner I got at the beauty store.

I don’t know if this is true but I heard lice don’t like coconut so you could use the coconut scented shampoo. Not sure about the tea tree oil
