Which would you do?

Serious question because this happened to me today: If you were parked in a parking lot and the spot in front of you was empty when you were ready to leave but there was a mom there with a small child next to the empty spot getting in their car would you reverse (like a decent human being) or make the mother wait with her small child while you go forward through empty spot?

Depends where it is.... if it’s Walmart packed parking lot I’ll wait. I hate backing up cause people fly by and don’t pay attention

Either wait or reverse. I’m not going to be a dick. 
But as a mom if I see someone about to pull out I wait behind my car so they can... mainly because I’m never in a hurry.

I’d go forward, waiting would depend who was there first, if they were there first I’d wait, if I was there first I’m going. I’m still a decently new driver, and I don’t feel completely safe backing up unless someone else is in the car or I’m in my moms (hers has a backup camera, mine doesn’t)

I just wasn’t expecting them to go forward, you know since they could obviously see me. If he was already halfway through the spot when I got there I would’ve moved but he literally started moving forward when I opened my door and then I stood there with my child against my car so they could go through because he was obviously not going to wait for me or reverse. He was just being a dumbass with no respect for my child’s safety.

here, people will fly through the lanes then blame you for hitting them, plus i just get nervous with reversing. i try to atleast make myself look busy until their safely out of the way
