can swimming in a pool worsen my yeast infection?

I work in a indoor pool as a swim teacher and I'm in the pool for 6+ hours everyday.  I have a vaginal yeast infection that I'm on day 3 of monistat 7 treatment. I heard it's bad to go in a pool is it true? I don't have a choice though I don't think. please help me any tips

My doctor told me when I had a yeast infection that staying in a wet bathing suit can cause them. Change into dry clothes as soon as possible after work

If it does end up making it worse, go to the doctor. The doctor gave me 2 pills to take and I took it at night and woke up with my yeast infection gone before I took the second pill. 
If you can't see a doctor I'd use the offbrand Monistat one day treatment. 
It doesn't burn like Monistat and it will be gone the very next day.
