Ear yanking and hair pulling?

I recently got into a debate about physical discipline for children. It was on a spanking post, and the person commented that “if I have done everything I know as a mother and the child is still disrespecting me, you better believe imma snatch that ear or even hair to get my point across.”.

If you believe in spanking, what are your thoughts on yanking your child’s ear or hair to discipline them?

If you don’t believe in spanking, do you think this is the less, the same as or worse than spanking?
