My baby has a risk of Downs?!?

Hi all!
So I last week I got the second part of my quad screening at 15.4 weeks. So the results came back for a 1:120 chance of the baby having Down Syndrome which is considered increased risk. However, my nuchal translucency is 1.2 mm which the US tech said at the time of the first screening is normal. It’s so confusing. Anyone have experience or stories of their baby having a higher risk of DS...and what was the outcome? I’m concerned that the rest of my pregnancy will have complications. Thanks in advance!

Thank you all for your responses!!! I haven’t received any messages or calls yet to see if there’s a next step or if they want me to just wait until my anatomy scan in 3 weeks to see what to do next. If they don’t call me tomorrow then I’ll call them.

All I can tell you is pray. When my mother was pregnant with me she was told by the doctor that there was a chance that I would be born with Downs and was recommended to abort me. She refused to and I just graduated last year in the top 10 of my class. Basically what I'm saying is anything is possible and that no matter what you just have to have faith.

I haven’t taken this test yet, but are you saying you have 1 in 120 chance of having Down syndrome? 
That doesn’t sound so high at all, in absolute terms. There might be higher chance than others but it is still very little chance! 
I remember the np telling us at some later date you can test the actual fluid so you will know for sure. Maybe you can do that?

If they were concerned they would’ve referred you to a genetic specialist. Don’t stress. I know someone that had a 1/30 chance, went to a genetic specialist and everything was perfectly fine. I currently have a 1/10 chance of my baby having spina bifida and am hoping my baby is perfectly fine as well.

Did your doctor suggest doing an NIPT or amniocentesis to get a better assessment of the risk?
