Scary appointment

So yesterday I went for a prenatal check up at 14w5d. It was a nurse appointment to collect medical history followed by doctor appointment to check fetal heart tones and general check up. First half went fine though their computer system was down so everything took longer as it had to be done by hand. When it came time to check for the heartbeat things went downhill fast. The 1st nurse tried for a good 10 minutes and nothing. She gets another nurse who helps her (pushing on my stomach/uterus) and then she looks but still nothing after almost another 10 minutes. At this point the 1st nurse is yelling for the last nurse available. She comes in...nothing. so 2 of the 3 nurses are talking about painting their kids rooms and blah blah while im clearly upset. Only the 1 nurse is really comforting me at all. FINALLY my dr walks in and finds it within a minute or so. I couldnt hear it because it was in the background so she finds it again to ease my mind. All this time im undressed from the waist down and when the nurses left the doctor said "you know i dont need to examine you right?". "why did they have you undress"? I told her because they said she needed to do a swab on me for STDs since it wasnt done at the last appt. She said oh ok. (Again, system was down so she didnt know). She tells me that she doesnt even have to go there. The detection rate is the same if she were to do it or me. she told me how do to it. You literally just stick it in there then break the q tip part off and pit it right in the tube. But, im not sure if she felt like I had been through enough and wanted to spare me or if I should feel offended? I dont know. It all just sucked. I guess I just needed to vent.
