Overtime & pregnant 🤰🏻

La

I signed up to work overtime from 1300-1900 today. We’re required to sign up if we plan on working OT. I’m 16w2d pregnant, have worked in a jail for six years, 12-24 hours of overtime each pay period the majority of those years. Basically, I’ve worked my butt off on 12 hour shifts, rotating days and nights. I never call in. Today I was going back and forth between going in and not going in. I have to work from 0700–1900 the next two days. My husband, who works at the same place, told me not to go in if I didn’t feel like it. I went and changed my time sheet. There were three others working OT in that shift, so that was plenty of help.

At 1330 I get a call from that shift supervisor.

“What’s your excuse this time?” He snaps.

(I’ve only cancelled my overtime probably three times since I’ve worked there. Usually I let them know, but I changed my mind when I was supposed to be walking in so I didn’t this time)

“Our gage on our well went out and I need to help matt with it this afternoon.”

“Well, you didn’t call me and let me know.”

“I changed it on my time sheet.”

“You didn’t call and let me know.”

“See, I was waiting on you to get here so I could give you a hug, but..”

“Can I give you a hug next time?”

“Sure, if you ever show up.”

Basically, the supervisor was a complete ass. I called my husband and told him, and he said he told him to give me a hard time.

Maybe it’s the hormones, but it kind of pissed me off. I’m already hormonal, and my husband told the supervisor to give me hell. Would you be pissed?
